Judy, Mark, and their L.A. walkabout

Judy and I went way back. We were friends since 4th grade. After I moved to the states in the summer of 1991, we were able to keep in touch all these years.

Judy and Mark got married this May. The newly weds decided to spend their vacation in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. We were very happy to met up with them and played host. We went shopping in Palm Springs and ran all over the great Los Angeles area that included San Gabriel, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica.

Here are some of the photos we took for the loving newly weds:

Story and her loving parents at a park

It was a nice afternoon at a small park in Glendale. We met up with Mark, Hana, and their beautiful baby girl Story for a nice little family portrait session. Story was just waking up and she looked so cute. After a while she’s fully energized and her smile was brighter than the setting Sun.

About an hour later, we decided to go back to their cozy house because it was getting a little cold for Story. There we took a couple more shots before we said goodbyes. It was such an experience that we cannot wait to work with Story again!

Here are some of the shots we took that day:

Living by the beach

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. About three summers ago, Debbie and I moved down to the Los Angeles South Bay area. Even though it was from one bay area to another, we never actually lived anywhere close to a beach. We now live about 15 minutes walking distance away from the Redondo Beach and the Pier, and it is definitely a change of scenery and life style.

One of the perks about living so close to the beach is the weather.  During summer season when most of the greater Los Angeles population suffers from extreme heat, we can still, occassionally, enjoy cool and comfortable breezes.

Another perk about living so close to the beach is the fresh and delicious seafood available on the pier.  Besides lobsters and crabs, live sea urchins are my favorites.  Considering how expensive they are at any Japanese restaurant, $5 per sea urchin is not a bad deal at all.

And of course, easy access to beautiful beach scenes is another reason why I like living by the beach.  One evening I just grabbed my camera and drove to the beach.  Here are some of the shots I took that evening:
